What Is AATS and Why Should I Care?

AATS means “Africa Alliance Teen Scholarship” and stands for an educational and academic simulation of diplomatic decision making. During an “AATS conference”, students aged 14-30 learn about diplomacy, international relations, the United Nations, African Union, United Africa and other international organizations. AATS teaches its participants, called “Delegates”, researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, teamwork, and cultural empathy.

Five reasons to participate in an MUN conference
  1. You will benefit from an AATS always looking great on your CV.
  2. You will increese your public speaking, debating, and teamwork skills.
  3. You will learn about the way international organizations, like the UN, work.
  4. You will make a lot of new connections and friends around the world.
  5. You will travel the world!

MUN Refugee Challenge

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is inviting AATSs organized in 2020 to debate four major issues:

  1. Climate change and displacement
  2. Countering toxic narratives about refugees and migrants
  3. Economic inclusion of refugees
  4. Access to education for refugees

The best resolutions will win awards, be shared with policy-makers and promoted on the global change. Do you want to be part of the solution?
